Don't auto open UI on pants server. This frequently results in error messages on linux machines with no window manager or installed console browsers. It's also not really necessary anymore, since the correct URL for the pants server is printed on the terminal on every invocation. We've had users complain about it, and I agree that we shouldn't be stealing focus.

  1. Sorry, would have reviewed sooner but did a double-take at the idea of something being easier on a mac than on linux. "with no window manager" explained it nicely

  1. I'm fine with this - but why would a headless user run the server in the 1st place today?
It would be nice to be able to pantsrc this on - I'd use that. Accordingly I should buck up and send a follow on RB.
    1. Because you can expose the pants server port to external clients and then hit it from the browser of your local box. I do this all the time when debugging things on my dev (datacenter) box.
    2. Aha - the promised land (we're not there yet :/) - makes sense.
