I was pretty much guessing at: how to decide whether your situation calls for the elegant-hand-merge versus burn-everything-start-over approach

    ./pants goal clean-all && ./pants goal publish is probably the right thing to do here until some future where pants is perfect.

    as ivy hits.... sounds like it wants more words to finish the thought - though I may be reading this oddly.

    specifically `./pants goal clean-all && ./pants goal publish` - for open source pants you cannot today chain invalidate or clean-all with other goals - I have not dug into why.
